Majeed Waris makes injury return in Strasbourg 3-2 defeat to Lyon

Ghana forward Majeed Waris made a return to first-team action for French Ligue one side Strasbourg against Olympique Lyon on Sunday.

Strasbourg suffered a  3-2 defeat to Olympique Lyon in this encounter.

The 29-year old had miss Strasbourg’s game against Lille before the international break after sustaining a strained thigh.

The visitors scored first through Tino Kadwere in the 12th minute.

Karl Toko Ekambi made it 2-0 for Lyon in the 25th minute and added a second in the 42nd minute to make it 3-0.

Habib Diallo pulled one back for Strasbourg before the break.

Jean-Eudes Aholou reduced the deficit for Strasbourg in the 55th minute to make it 3-2/

Majeed Waris came on as a substitute for Thomasson in the 83rd minute of the second half.

Meanwhile, fellow countryman Alexander Djiku missed the game due to suspension.

The centre-back who returned from international duty with Ghana’s Black Stars was unavailable for the game due to accumulation of cards.
