Management of internet sensation, Rashidatu Mohammed, who won this year’s 2016 Jigwe Award for her controversial ‘malafaka’ video, has finally pulled down the said video from Facebook two months after its release.

Bismark Atta Boamponsem (Mr. Awesome), who currently heads Rashida’s management team, said the move had become necessary due to Rashida’s growing brand which requires her to shift focus to new projects.

“Initially, the reactions were mostly negative, because of the strong language and references to sex, but gradually, people started expressing their love for her, so a new chapter is opening,” he said in an interview with a freelance journalist, Lord Kweku Sekyi.

Mr Awesome added that the 18-year-old has begun receiving offers from some of Ghana’s leading production houses following her sudden rise to fame over her controversial video.

“Sometimes, good things come out of bad situations, and that’s exactly how Rashida’s journey has begun. And already, her fan base extends to Europe and America, because, aside the malaka part, a lot of people think she possesses something special within her to do better in life. Rashida Black Beauty is now a brand that portrays confidence and pride of being an African with dark skin,” he said.

He stressed that Rashida will be enrolling in a training programme soon to improve herself towards becoming the actress she had always dreamt of.

Rashida became one of the most searched Ghanaians on the Internet in 2016, after her use of the term ‘malafaka’ (a corruption of the offensive American slang, ‘motherfucker’) in a video that was shared by so many on various online platforms.

She had in the said video accused her lover, Kushman of verbally abusing her after jilting her [Black Beauty] for another lady.

A Hiplife song performed by newcomer Mr Awesome featuring Rashid Black Beauty and rapper Kooko was subsequently released.

The song focused on the Internet sensation Rashida and showed how her recent broken heart story occurred.
